JOB DESCRIPTION
As our operations tech/canning operator, your job will be to manage daily operations, with a strong focus on upholding food safety & quality standards. You will be expected to maintain a “safety first” mindset with all duties at all times. You will be responsible for the canning of our kombucha, and troubleshooting the canning machine when necessary. You will train, mentor, and develop a high performing production team who follow Good Manufacturing Practice, and ensure consistent “on time and in full” production and deliveries. You will be responsible for keeping thorough documentation of daily operations, and are expected to always be improving upon Good Manufacturing Practice, while promoting a continuous improvement culture among staff. You will ensure maintenance on equipment is up to date as well. On the job training will be provided by Engineering Technologies.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Operate Cask ACS V5 canning machine with Cask automated depalletizer, SL-10 label applicator

    and heat tunnel (https://www.cask.com/canning-systems/acs-automated-canning-system-v5)

  • Brew large 4000 to 7000 Litre batches of sweet tea using 95 degree Celsius hot water

  • Keep thorough records of brewing logs, tea logs, opening/closing checklist, and other documentations as outlined in Happy Belly Kombucha’s Good Manufacturing Practice Manual

  • Assist in Kombucha Infusion

  • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical issues as they arise

  • Optimize floor production

  • Cleaning & Sanitizing of tools and equipment after canning/tea making/infusion

  • Assist in pH measurement taking

  • Ensure stock & supply replenishment in work area

  • Arrange for delivery/pickup, as required

  • Carry out receiving procedures for shipments when they arrive

  • Under the direction of our in-house Engineering Technologist perform/complete other additional projects, duties, and assignments as required

  • Engineering Technologist

  • Strong knowledge of pressure and heat expansion for safety

EXPERIENCE

  • Kombucha brewing experience is a plus

  • Active lifestyle is a plus

  • Social media experience is a plus

  • Minimum 5 years of collective work experience is a must

  • HACCP training or experience is a plus


EDUCATION

  • Successful completion of Engineering Technologist/Engineering Diploma/Degree.

TRAINING

  • On site on the job training will be provided by Engineering Technologist.
